Just wondering, with All the Vitriol OU Fans have been spewing for a Month Now!!!
How do the Players react to that!?!
They were Recruited by Riley & Experienced Great Success under his Watchful Eye !!!
Now that he is Enemy No 1, you have to Question how to Process all this emotional response!!
Is it Logical that they Believe what they Experienced for several years??
Or do they Suddenly Believe whatever is said, including by the Media!?!
The Same Fans that Booed Rattler, are Now Calling for Riley’s Head !!!
Really ???
If I tell you that I don’t Like your New Car or say negative things about it, How do you take that!?!
It’s Personal!!
Of Course, the Players will go on the Big Bowl Trip & take advantage of all the Freebies!!
But don’t Think They haven’t thought about the Next Step !!
What’s Best for them!?!
I will never root for USC , Even though I was Born 15 Minutes from the Coliseum!!!
But we need to Man Up & Realize that Caleb & Friends could End up Transferring after the Alamo Bowl!!!
Just maybe they get a New Convertible from their Nil Deal & Send us a Picture from the Beach!!!

Good morning Smiles. How are you today?

Yeah, it’s getting old and does no good to be constantly picking the scab of the wound. I was probably one of the worst at first. I’m still feeling shafted, but now, finally accepting and knowing it’s totally out of my control, I’m moving on.

After reading some of the posts on the YouTube USC fan sites, I felt compelled to state my case for moving on. I told the USC faithful that enough bitching has gone on for long enough, and even though they can’t seem to grasp WHY we Sooner fans are so bitter, I, for one, wish them the best with their new coach. Also that I truly hope they get back to the kind of rep they had during their glory days.

Now, as far as the players go, I don’t know whether they have taken it all personal or not. If it was me, I would feel betrayed by my leader who just abandoned me after talking through both sides of his mouth. I just thank God for Bob Stoops who stepped in and made sure the players know that THEY are OU football…not muleshoe.

Finally, Caleb Williams…I’m to the point where if he goes, he goes. Again, whatever he does is beyond by control of influence. I DO hope he stays, but it’s not the end of the world if he doesn’t. BV and company would find a QB through the portal if need be in an emergency. I think back to Stoops first team in 1999. Even after Bob and company swapped some players to new positions and overall, solidified the team with Blake’s recruits, OU had zero QB talent in the cupboard. He and Leach went out and signed some unknown QB from Snow Junior College named Josh Heupel. He became OUs starting QB with his signature that day, and Mike Leach’s first protege’. We both remember how that move turned out one year later.

In a nutshell, OU is, and always shall be, one of the premier programs in CFB. We will always have good, if not great players wanting to come here. Either through high school recruiting, junior college, or the transfer portal. If it comes to that, I can see transfers coming in, both on offense and defense, and right away giving OUr Sooners a solid chance to be really good in 2022 and beyond.

If Caleb goes, he probably takes a Few with him & then the Sum Totals will Not be equal!!

Post Game Interview with Caleb!!
Not a Better Opportunity to shut it down by Announcing his intentions to Come Back !!
I have been saying for a Month, Family Decision to Transfer!!!
Vacation with the Family was the Escape Clause!?!
Seems like a Perfect Storm for Caleb to Practice his Craft & win his First Bowl Game!?!
Will he take anyone with him???
Jalil seems Obvious!!
What about Mims or Brooks?!?
Stoops did a Wonderful Job Stabilizing Everything for OU !!
Venables has his Work cut out for him if 5 or 6 Transfers go to USC !!!
Secondary went on Vacation in 2nd Half!!!
Vacation probably won’t last more than a week!?!
We shall see!!!

Yeah Smiles…the longer CW waits to announce, I’m believing he is leaving. I used to think 70-30 that he’s staying, but after some of his veiled comments at the post Alamo Bowl press conference, I think I’m reversing my prediction to 70-30 that he goes. Reading all the speculation of WHERE he may be going is convoluted, I’m pretty confident all signs still point to muleshoe at USC. Calebs loyalty to him has been obvious, and his “vacation” may be for him and his family to go house hunting in the LA area.

Although I have resisted getting on your bandwagon of sorts, you may be proven right in many aspects here. If he goes, he goes…and OU will go to the portal for another solid, if not spectacular QB to mold into Lebbys offensive scheme.

But all that said…I hope you enjoyed the game as much as I did. So many memories…Gundy calling a GREAT game offensively (and proving his meddle as a potential OC for somebody, someday)…the defensive twos and threes playing their guts out…a SOLID send off from Kennedy Brooks…the sideline celebration with Bob and Drake after his TD…Coach getting his Gatorade bath (maybe a little tequila mixed in there?)…Bob ceremonially, and classily doing the “passing of the visor” to Venables on the big stage after the win…Although the defense in the second half could have been better, I couldn’t have asked for a better game.

Its going to be an interesting time before next August. Calebs decision…the transfer portal…The final chapter of the 2022 signing day in a month or so…the practices, preparations and playing of the spring game come April, where we can see what the next coaching team is putting together to compete for the championships to come.

It’s an exciting time to be a Sooner fan! CAN’T WAIT!! BOOMER SOONER BABY!
