This NIL stuff...

Just heard Bryce Thompson -- Tulsa kid, went to Kansas, transferred to Oklahoma State -- has a new NIL deal with a Tulsa Ford dealer that will allow him to drive around a brand new orange Mustang.

Man, it's great for the players. But I just think how totally unfair it all is to Rhett Bomar and other guys who broke the old rules down through the years and got in trouble for it. Manziel, Gurley, so many guys. Now you can take as much as you can get as long as you tell your school's compliance department. Wild.

What do you guys think? Like NIL? Hate it? Wish it was in place 50 years ago? Let us know...

regrettably, and i have forever been in favor of something like NIL, but the texass thing has completely changed my mind. a 10 million donor pool to buy players is so far off the rail that i side with the right wingers like saban and swinney now. i hate it, but this will be the end of a lot of good things about college sports.

Something needed to change for the athletes. Everyone BUT them were making serious cash off of their college fame. But THIS?! Not exactly what I thought. It’s basically the NFL lite…and with the transfer portal being like free agency, it’s even more so. I don’t know what the REAL answer is now, but it may be too late to dial it back a few notches, except for reenergizing the transfer rule about sitting out a season. At least that would give a player pause.

The Players need Compensation, but Transfer Access needs to have restrictions!!

Give them a Reason to Stay!!! Boomer!!! Smiles

Not a bad idea Smiles…it would give a player something to think about before entering the portal.
